Solera Backup

A private backup utility for a single personal server.

What this is

Solera Backup is a small, private utility that copies encrypted backup archives from one personal server to a single folder in its operator’s own Google Drive. It exists so that the backups of a personal wine-and-spirits cellar application do not live only on the same disk as the data they protect.

It is not a product, a service, or something you can sign up for. It has exactly one user: the person who runs the server.

What it does with Google Drive

Uploads AES-256-encrypted archive files into one folder chosen by the operator.
Lists and deletes only the files it created itself, in order to remove copies older than 30 days.
Nothing else. It does not read, list, modify or delete any other file in the account.

The utility requests only the drive.file scope, which restricts it to files it creates. The encryption key never leaves the operator’s server, so Google stores ciphertext and never receives readable data.

Who operates it

A single individual, for personal use. There are no other users, no third-party processors, and no commercial activity of any kind.
